Beef up your 'mixtapes' with this growing collection of overlooked songs, old and new. One track, three times a week. Don’t forget to join in on the conversation, too.
‘I'm taking back the knowledge/I'm taking back the gentleness/I'm taking back the ritual/I'm giving in to sweetness’
David Byrne’s Dance on Vaseline really gets its groove on in this remix by Thievery Corporation, the overtly political electronic duo out of Washington, D.C. At the very least, you’ll get out of your seat and moving, albeit for what seems like a somehow brisk five minutes and 44 seconds that fades out and feels too short. What the heck, play it again. Or dive back to 1994 to discover (or rediscover) the largely overlooked David Byrne album and tracks like Angels.
Dance on Vaseline – David Byrne (Thievery Corporation remix)
Can't believe I didn't know about this, both Byrne and Thievery Corp are faves of mine. Thanks Rob!
