That Pixies’ Kim was the real Deal was made clear once the band broke up and she recruited her twin sister Kelley, among others, and became the leader of the Breeders. With a couple excellent albums and one of the killer alt-rock tracks of the 1990s in Cannonball, the Breeders could also surprise with the likes of Drivin’ on 9, a contemplative mix of melancholy, mirth… and fiddle. Nice.
